GEORGE BOXING NEWS - The Sobhuza Boxing Club from Thembalethu excelled at a regional boxing tournament held recently in Mossel Bay, winning a total of 13 gold and silver medals.
The club was also named the best club of the tournament, while Lifa Baleni was named the best fighter.
The young boxers who earned medals are Luzuko Makuyekwe, Kamva Xelithole, Ebenam Ndzide, Inathi Ketelo, Abulele Ketelo, Liyema Saleni, Iqhuma Cola, Lifa Baleni, Anitha Nkomana, Ikhona Mbonde, Gavin Maqume, Bukho Booi and Likhona Madimpho.
According to coach Mandla December the club aims to take kids off the streets through getting them involved in boxing.
