BOWLING NEWS - The sixth and final round of the Lew Geffen Sotheby's International Realty Spring Business League took place at the George Bowling Club on Thursday 23 November.
It was an exciting finish to the league, which has become increasingly popular with local George businesses, that face off for the Cup and Plate titles.
The prize-giving was held immediately after the games, and included a delicious steak braai for all the players, which everybody thoroughly enjoyed.
Watsons Meat took the league title on 69 points, and were announced as the Cup Winners for the 2023 Spring Business League. BMW M, who were lying fourth at the end of round five, jumped ahead of both York High School and Lew Geffen Sotheby's, and received the runner-up cup, on 61 points.
The Plate event was won by Characters, on 58 points, with BMW X in second place on 55 points. Strikers were the session winners for round six, with their spectacular win against Standard Bank Private Clients.

Joy Gargan of Millers Inc, who retires at the end of November after being a loyal member of the Business League since its inception prior to 2006, received a special mention and award from Tim Kirby, principal of Lew Geffen Sotheby's International Realty, for her long-standing support and participation in the Business League. Joy, you will be missed on the greens!
