The teams, from various businesses in and around George, provided a colourful spectacle of great bowling, good sportsmanship and friendship amongst all present. Ricoh sponsors the action bowls.
The first round was played on a straight draw out of a hat with team Aon taking full advantage of the system by beating newcomers Calendar Girls to top the log.
Old Mutual, Millers Attorneys and Eden Accounting, another first time entry, shared second place. York High, Absa, Multistone and Vodacom are lurking in third position.
From the second round onwards games will be contested on a strength versus strength basis.
The next round will be played this evening (Thursday) at 17:30. All supporters and families are more than welcome to come and support their favourite team. The SPCA will be catering and needs everyone's support. Their is also a cash bar available.
