Despite the mostly cloudy conditions, runners were treated with some wonderful moonlight, a real treat in between the rainy weather experienced over the weekend. Many athletes cited the 'awesome vibe', and the overall experience of the event as highlights.
Race Director for Chain Gang Events, Juan Botes, thanked the athletes for coming out to participate in the inaugural Full Moon Beach Run event. "We had a brilliant break in the weather and it made for excellent running conditions. All the athletes I spoke to enjoyed the experience and are ready for the next one."
The next event on the Chain Gang Events trail running calendar is the Big Tree Trail Run Series from 14-16 December. This is a pre-entry only event and athletes are reminded to enter early to avoid disappointment. Botes said entries close on Monday 2 December for this event, and no late entries will be taken thereafter.
