KNYSNA NEWS - The 40th Knysna Forest marathon, including a half marathon and fun run saw more than 7 500 medals awarded.
Knysna Forest Marathon winner was Tsepo Mathibelle of the Nedbank Running club. His time was 2:24:48. “It was difficult towards the end.” he said after the race.
Dané Cronjé from Qgeberha was first woman past the line in the marathon with a time of 3:13:44.
Lloyd Bosman was the winner of this year’s half marathon. "He makes a habit of winning", said John Walland event announcer. His time was 01:05:15.
The women’s winner of the half marathon was Ebeth Marais, a first-time winner from Port Elizabeth. Her time was 1:17:24.
There were just over 1 000 recorded marathon runners who participated and just over 6 000 runners took part in the half marathon.
Overall there were 8 600 participants, with about 1 200 no shows.
