GEORGE NEWS - Zeal Impact Group welcomed approximately 60 golfers, including many esteemed supporters and players from the Storms rugby team, to the Kingswood Golf Course for their inaugural Zeal golf day on Tuesday 23 April.
This event, aimed at raising awareness and funds for their community development programme in Blanco, specifically for the Blanco Storms, showcased the strength of community and collaborative efforts.
Through sport, the Zeal team has dedicated time to connect with young men in the Blanco community.
Building relationships has allowed them to mentor these individuals, equipping them with the tools needed to effect significant change within their communities.
The golf day proved to be a resounding success, exceeding fundraising expectations and enabling Zeal to make substantial progress towards their annual objectives.
"Our primary focus now shifts towards the launch of an educational initiative as part of our outreach efforts. Thanks to the generosity displayed at the golf day, we can now support three young men from Blanco.
"They will either retake matric subjects to obtain their certificates or complete grade 11 to qualify for matriculation.
"This marks just the beginning of our journey.
"In the coming years, we aspire to expand our capacity to foster sustainable change in communities across George," said Zeal's director Brendan Cooper.
