GEORGE NEWS - A very successful fundraising Cansa Golf Day was held at Kingswood Golf Estate on 19 February.
In statement the organisers said funds raised is used for the care and support of Cansa patients in the region, the awareness and prevention of cancer, as well as maintenance of the Irma Brushi Care Centre in George.
This centre cares for the accommodation, meals and transport to and from cancer treatment facilities for Cansa patients.
George businesses and residents sponsored 17 holes and treated players to eats, drinks and friendly chats, while playing golf.
The businesses also generously contributed by donating gift vouchers, gifts and products, which were used as excellent prizes and lucky draws for the event.
Gift vouchers from Pearl Valley Golf Club and Taj Mahal Hotel were won by Lucia Jonck and Mike Quinn. The winners for the Buffelsdrift vouchers will be announced on 28 March.
Voluntary fundraiser Ina van Zyl thanks Kingswood Golf Club for allowing Cansa to use its facilities for this event, their professional and friendly staff who assisted, the golf players who participated on the day, George businesses and residents who sponsored and donated, as well as all the helpers.
"It was a pleasure working with you."
