SOCCER NEWS - The George Local Football Association (Geolfa) proudly revealed its new logo and branding at the Easter Soccer Tournament launch at the Thembalethu sportsgrounds’ clubhouse in April.
Geolfa secretary Xola Makinana told George Herald that this brand-new logo marks a significant step forward in the organisation’s growth towards professional identity.
He said the new logo is unique in its design and authenticity, and replaces the previous Geolfa emblem that closely resembled the logo of La Liga FC, posing challenges related to originality.
Instead, the new logo reflects Geolfa’s commitment toward establishing an innovative brand that reflects integrity and genuinely represents the spirit of local football.
In alignment with the logo, Geolfa also introduced a range of newly branded equipment, including pull-up vision banners, wall banners, gazebos, tablecloths and sharkfin flags.
Makinana said these are part of the association’s broader vision to enhance visibility, professionalism and community engagement within the sport.
“The rebranding represents Geolfa’s dedication to creating a strong, respected identity rooted in passion and the unifying power of football,” he said.
He expressed his gratitude to the club managers, players, parents and the local supporters for believing in Geolfa’s leadership.
