GEORGE FOOTBALL NEWS - The promising Fast Eleven football club beat Ramaphosa FC 3-2 in their George Local Football Association (Geolfa) League match at the Lawaaikamp Stadium in George on Sunday afternoon, 2 May.
The winning goals were scored by Sihlangule Bolo (2) and Avela Mafukula, while Siphamandla Njaninjani scored both Ramaphosa's goals.
The two teams are fighting for higher positions on the Geolfa League table, with Fast Eleven currently occupying position number three with fifteen points after seven games - five victories and two losses. The Ramaphosa-based side, Ramaphosa FC, is sitting at position seven with ten points - three wins, one draw and two defeats.
The match was on fire from the onset, with Fast Eleven looking for the first goal of the game creating goal scoring opportunities. Both teams were playing the ball on the ground with Ramaphosa using the speed of its forwards to penetrate the defence of Fast Eleven.

Fast Eleven forced a corner kick after Ramaphosa launched a dangerous attack from the centre of the field, but it was easily cleared by the Fast Eleven defenders. Ramaphosa obtained another chance on the right side of the field with a free kick outside the box, but missed the target when the shot went wide.
Fast Eleven attacked by employing pace on the left side of the field but again failed to break the net.
Ramaphosa took control of the game from the centre of the field, building beautiful passes from the back line and creating scoring chances. Siphamandla Njaninjani of Ramaphosa tried his luck outside the box delivering a powerful shot, but his strike went straight to the goalkeeper of Fast Eleven.

It was game on and Fast Eleven responded with another strong attack but missed the target. Both teams were looking for the first goal of the game creating chances from the centre of the field.
Ramaphosa scored first after a marvellous cross inside the box that Njaninjani took advantage of to net the first goal. Fast Eleven tried to put pressure on the Ramza lanky defenders, but a Fast Eleven defender made a malicious tackle outside the box, giving away a free kick to Ramaphosa.
However, Hlathi's kick went over the bar. The first 45 minutes ended 1-0 with Ramaphosa leading.

Second half
The second half of the game brought some changes with both teams playing the ball at a fast pace, hunting for more goals. Sihlangule Bolo scored the first goal for Fast Eleven to level the score with beautiful play from the right side of the field. Njaninjani played very well, attacking the Fast Eleven backline and delivering an excellent cross, but his shot was cleared away by Fast Eleven defenders.
Avela Mafukula of Fast Eleven scored the second goal to make it 2-1 after beating the Ramza backline. Fast Eleven came back in full force looking for more goals and Sihlangule Bolo scored the third goal to make the score 3-1.
Ramaphosa fought back and received a penalty in the last moments of the game after a Fast Eleven defender handled the ball inside the box. Siphamandla Njaninjani was spot on with his penalty shot to clinch the game with a final score of 3-2.
