CRICKET NEWS - The Six Gun Grill Garden Route Badgers Colts achieved mixed results in their final round of matches in the Cricket South Africa Provincial Colts competition against Boland.
The matches were played at the REC Ground last weekend.
In the three-day match, Boland batted first and posted 312 (all out) with David Christie K(136) posting a century.
Jarren Bacher (grandson of Dr Ali Bacher) took 6/65 for the Badgers.
The schoolboy, Kurt Botha, (82) excelled for the Badgers in their first innings as they were dismissed for 166 – a deficit of 146.
Boland declared their second innings at 220/5 – setting the Badgers a target of 366.
With their second innings score at 225/4, the captains shook hands as the match ended in a draw. Tyrece Karelse made 79.
In the one-day match the Badgers were dismissed for only 178 with Warren Bell (75 from 94 balls) the top performer. Boland responded with 179/1 for a nine-wicket victory with Christie (101 from 112 balls) making a century.
