CRICKET NEWS - The women's team from Union Stars qualified to defend their national T20 club champions title after they won both their qualifying matches in the Western Cape triangular qualifying series the past weekend.
On Saturday, Union Stars (97/2) won by 8 wickets against the University of the Western Cape – 86/8 - (Western Province) after they surpassed the target with one over to spare.
Against Maties (47/8) they were victorious by 79 runs after Stars, who batted first, posted 126/2.
The national championship tournament will be hosted in Potchefstroom from 18 to 21 April.
