GEORGE CRICKET NEWS - A new SWD Premier League champion will be crowned on Saturday when Union Stars and George will lock horns at the Recreation Ground in Oudtshoorn.

Union Stars, who topped the log after the preliminary rounds, have several provincial players in their line-up and will be full of confidence after they have reached sixteen of the last eighteen finals since 2002/03. They won 12 of those.

The Union Stars line-up boasts experienced match-winners like Pieter Stuurman, LeRoi Bredenkamp, Yamkela Oliphant, Tyrece Karelse and Renaldo Meyer.

The key players for George, who will play in their third consecutive final, will be Neil Hornbuckle, Levin Muller, Richardt Frenz, Franco Geldenhuys, Bailey Aarons, Jaco Fourie and Gary Wagner.

The last time that George won the final was in 2007/08. In 2008/09 they shared the trophy with Pacaltsdorp United.

The match will start at 10:00.
