The series forms part of Zimbabwe’s preparation for the ICC Women’s World T20 Qualifiers tournament that will take place in Thailand this November.
It is also an ideal opportunity for the South African team to give much needed match exposure to players returning to international cricket like Dinesha Devnarain and Nadine Moodley as well as players who are on the fringe of the Momentum Proteas team.
Team coach, Hilton Moreeng said that he is looking forward to seeing what the second tier of players has to offer.
“This is an important tour for us from a CSA point of view because this is a good opportunity to watch the most promising players whom we identified during the National Women’s Week in Bloemfontein, take their place and finally show what they have to offer at an international level,” he said.
