CRICKET NEWS - The induction of the newly announced professional Women's League in South Africa will kick off on Saturday.
The Six Gun Grill Garden Route Badgers Women's team will take on the Fidelity Titans at the Recreation Ground in Oudtshoorn in a Cricket SA Top 6 One-day Cup match on Saturday 7 October, and a T20 Challenge match on Sunday 8 October.
Unfortunately, the home side will be without Tazmin Brits and Mieke Ridder, who are on international duty with the Proteas national women's team.
Local heroes like the captain, Jané Winster, Miceala Andrews and Haroline Rhodes will be joined by newly recruited contracted players Chantelle van Schoor, Tabita le Grange, Askaha Nyovane, Julia Hoal, Koketso Manyaga and Khyayakazi Mathe.
The coach for the past two season, Martelize van der Merwe, will still be in charge of the team.
