GEORGE NEWS - Summer in the Garden Route offers a wide variety of lovely activities, and the end of last year did not disappoint.
Sunny conditions added to holidaymakers’ cheer, with families enjoying time under bright, colourful beach umbrellas, exploring nature trails, fishing and even swimming in some of the many natural pools.
Wilderness NSRI and other emergency services were visible throughout the region, ensuring everything ran smoothly. They were also quick to assist anyone in need.
Every corner of the Garden Route was explored by South African and international visitors who had chosen the area as their holiday destination. Roads, shopping centres and markets were bustling with people, and business owners - particularly restaurateurs, informal traders and shopkeepers - were delighted by the steady flow of visitors crossing their thresholds.

Holidaymakers were spoilt for choice with a wide array of beautifully handcrafted items and unique products available at local shops and markets. From arts and crafts to jewellery, woodwork and home-made treats, the stalls offered something for every taste. These items served not only as popular gifts and souvenirs, but also showcased the creativity and craftsmanship of local producers and entrepreneurs.

The spirit was high and the holiday joyous. It is now a little quieter, but fortunately, international tourists are still arriving, and there is always plenty to see and do.
