Ceres man guilty of murdering man who 'made a pass' at him

NATIONAL NEWS - A Ceres man has been found guilty of murder in an apparent hate crime.

Christo Oncke heard his fate in the Ceres Circuit Court yesterday.

The deadly attack on David Olyn took place in March 2014.

The court has postponed sentencing to late next month, to allow Oncke to undergo a psychological assessment.

Olyn’s charred body was found near a dam in March 2014 with his hands and feet bound.

In a plea agreement, Oncke said Olyn had made a sexual pass at him.
