According to spokesman Chief Superintendent Wilfred Kgasago he said he was speeding "for no reason at all".
He was charged with reckless and negligent driving at the Alberton police station and was among 15 people arrested on Sunday.
Unlike the motorcyclist who had no excuse, a 36-year-old man said he was late for breakfast when he was caught doing 185kph on the same stretch between the R59 and Comaro road.
A 27-year old was caught doing 175kph in his Toyota Corolla while on his way to Bloemfontein.
The three were released on R1000 bail and would appear in the Palm Ridge Magistrate's Court soon.
On a different stretch of road -- the R23 between Rangeview and Athlone roads -- 12 people were caught doing excessively high speeds in an 80kph zone.
They were recorded doing between 143kph and 121kph and were charged at the Brakpan police station. They would appear in the town's court soon, after being bailed out on R1000 each.
