A festival worker drowned at the weekend in a dam at the Cloof Wine Estate near Darling, where the event was held.
The 21-year-old man who drowned worked for one of the festival’s suppliers. He reportedly asked his employer if he could eat before swimming in the dam near the estate on Friday morning.
After disappearing under water, police divers spent a day and a half searching for the man. His body was retrieved on Saturday morning.
On its Facebook page, Rocking the Daisies management extended its condolences to the man’s family, adding that they take the safety of festivalgoers very seriously.
