NATIONAL NEWS & VIDEO - During the address, the president provided an update on provisions for the religious sector following a meeting of the National Coronavirus Command Council, which considered the inputs made by the sector in recent consultations with interfaith leaders.
He said that during level 3, the restrictions on people gathering would be eased.
Synagogues, churches, mosques, temples and other recognised places of worship would be limited to gatherings of no more than 50 at a time and strict measures such as face mask wearing and sanitation would need to be implemented.
This Sunday would be designated a national day of prayer to call for healing and strength in the battle against Covid-19.
Level 3 is expected to come into effect the next day on 1 June.
Religious leaders would continue to be allowed to officiate funerals with no more than 50 mourners.
