SEDGEFIELD NEWS - Thousands of visitors are expected to flock to Sedgefield today (Sunday 28 January) when Sedgefield pulls out all the stops to welcome home Demi-Leigh Nel-Peters, Miss Universe 2018.
Miss Universe will be honoured with a street parade by the people who have supported her through her incredible journey to the Miss Universe crown.
The parade will start at 15:00 on the Sedgefield Primary School sport field and will go down Main Service Road which runs parallel to the N2, all the way to Vink Avenue, where it will turn left and loop back via Flamingo Avenue and Kingfisher Drive to the Main Service Road and back to the field, where entertainment and food stalls will be waiting for the residents of Sedgefield and visitors.
Demi-Leigh's parents and grandparents, as well as numerous VIPs, will lead the parade followed by floats, dancers, bands, local schoolchildren and Harley Davidson bikers.
The Knysna Fire Department and Working on Fire as well as local NGOs will also participate in the parade to contribute to a festive carnival atmosphere.
Members of the public are encouraged to line the streets on the route and to give Demi-Leigh a rousing welcome.
Back at the field, Demi-Leigh will hand out signed pictures of herself and pose for pictures with the public until 18:00, when she will head off to her next engagement.
