Ambulance crew attacked in PE
NATIONAL NEWS - Eastern Cape Department of Health spokesman Siyanda Manana said ambulances will no longer be going into Kwazakhele without a police escort.

This follows a second attack in four days on EMS ambulance crew members today.

According to Manana, if a police escort is not available patients will have to be brought to the nearest police station.

EMS ambulance crew members were held at knife and gunpoint at Kwazakhele Site & Service early this morning. The crew was robbed of phones and wallets.

It is understood that the two crew members were attacked by six armed men.
