Last year saw thousands of people flood the track in order to get up close and personal with some of the latest cars on offer. So what has this year's event got in store for those attending?
Interactive motoring and product launches
As with last year, the 2017 motoring event will be the back drop for many a new car launch. For those in attendance, you will be the first to see the unveiling of the latest Mitsubishi Pajero Sport, a car that we here at Autodealer have been waiting a long time for. Sources say that the car features an array of high-tech standard equipment such as an eight-speed automatic gearbox with low-range, as well as an updated version of the brands SuperSelect four-wheel drive system,
Newcomers into the South African market, BAIC (Beijing Automotive Group Co) will also be taking the opportunity to introduce their brand to the public, as well as unveil more models like the X25, which is a high quality yet affordable SUV said to be competitively priced.
Haval, another new Chinese brand and one of the biggest in the world, will also be launching their new H6 C model which will be on display alongside the H1, H2 and regular H6. Attendees will also have the opportunity to get up close to other brands such as BMW, Mercedes-Benz and Jaguar to name a few.
Test drives
Unique to the show is the fact that there will be test drives available from various manufacturers. Show goers will be able to ride alongside a professional driving instructor or drive the cars on offer themselves to get a sense of the car and what it offers. Mercedes-AMG is taking the opportunity to introduce its latest supercar, the AMG GT R, a track hungry monster in all its Green Hell glory.
Other areas of interest
There is something for everyone at this year's event, such as the newly expanded 4x4 village and the highly anticipated skidpan area where manufacturers will demonstrate what their cars can really do.
There will also be a galleria exhibit area where visitors can sample and purchase items relevant to the motoring industry. Most importantly, there will be a food court where you can indulge in some of the best food around as well as quench your thirst with home brewed beverages. For the kids, well there will be a dedicated and secure children’s area where they will be entertained throughout the day.
It’s world class
This year's event has gained an international flavour with the announcement that Will Kinsman, Head of Motorsport Content for the Goodwood Road Racing Company, who are the organisers of the Festival of Speed and Goodwood Revival, has confirmed participation as judge of all motoring content at the event.
