Based on the flagship X-Play Black, the new X-cite, apart from the slight gain in headroom, differs little in terms of exterior and interior revisions, with the former consisting of LED headlights and 15-inch alloy wheels and the latter of a new colour touchscreen infotainment display. Standard spec has however been bolstered to include a tilt adjustable steering column, curtain airbags, Hill Assist Control and Vehicle Stability Control.
Motivation remains unchanged from the regular Aygo though with the X-cite making use of a 1.0-litre three-cylinder petrol engine developing 51 kW and 95 Nm of torque, with drive going to the front wheels via a five-speed manual gearbox. Top speed is a claimed 160 km/h with the benchmark 0-100 km/h sprint taking 14.2 seconds, while fuel consumption is rated at 4.4 L/100 km and emissions below the 120g/km tax barrier at 102 g/km.
Priced at R189 500, R28 000 more than the X-Play Black, the X-cite also comes with a three year / 100 000 km warranty as standard with a service plan being optional.
