According to a post on bmwblog.com, information regarding what will be an even more powerful and faster version of the imminent M8 was revealed at the recent Paris Motor Show, only to a group of invited guests with the actual images and complete details barred from being made public.
Based on the claims of one of the alleged attendees at French showpiece however, the M8 Competition will come equipped with an optional carbon fibre package set to lower the overall weight, and yellow brake calipers identifying the carbon ceramic stoppers.
Not revealed though was the engine that will power the Competition, but with the BMW having already ruled out the 6.6-litre bi-turbo V12 from the 760Li xDrive, chances are that the M8 will receive the same 460kW/750Nm 4.4-litre bi-turbo V8 as the M5 Competition.
With the standard M850i capable of completing the 0-100km/h sprint in 3.7 seconds, expect the M8 Competition to possibly bring this below the three seconds mark.
Expect more details to be revealed in the coming weeks and months.
