Although pictured last year in prototype form with BMW switchgear, the latest images taken after yet more laps at the Nürburgring had been completed, shows a more Toyota centric design in the form of the digital instrument cluster, the apparent lack of the iDrive controller and a more integrated infotainment system.
What has remained though is the BMW sourced steering wheel and pistol grip gear lever for the automatic transmission, which reports have claimed would be the only option.
The Supra’s sharing of BMW parts will also include the engine, which, like previous generations, will be a straight-six turbo likely derived from the M3 / M4, with a rumoured output of 331 kW, the same as the Munich automaker’s Competition Pack models.
Production will take place in Austria from next year alongside the new BMW Z4, although a world reveal is reportedly due to take place at the Paris Motor Show in October.
