Like its sports car sibling, the XE Chequered Flag mainly receives a number of cosmetic overhauls with these consisting of gloss black 18-inch Chalice alloy wheels, body-coloured door sills and boot spoiler, a sportier front bumper, black detailing and a choice of three colours; Yulong White, Eiger Grey and Santorini Black.
Aside from the inclusion of the 10-inch Touch Pro infotainment system with Apple CarPlay, the 12.3-inch TFT instrument cluster and keyless entry, the Chequered Flag’s bespoke touches include a Dark Hex aluminium finish on the aforementioned instrument cluster panel, R-Sport full leather upholstery in Jet/Jet or Jet/Red finish, contrasting stitching and branded treadplates.
No changes have however taken place underneath the bonnet where the Chequered Flag comes equipped with a choice of two 2.0-litre Ingenium turbo-petrol engines delivering 184kW/365Nm and 221kW/400Nm, and the single 2.0-litre Ingenium turbodiesel that outputs 132kW/430Nm. A ZF-sourced eight-speed automatic gearbox is the sole option on all variants.
Pricing of the XE Chequered Flag edition will be made closer to the local launch date.
