Attitude and style come standard on the daddy of sports sedans with some exciting new aesthetic changes. When looking at the 3 Series from the front, the sporty perception of width is emphasised with revised air intakes. At the back, it’s much the same as a “line-specific trim element” and LED taillights complement the sporty stance of the Beemer.
On the inside, the Bavarian crusader is aiming for a sense of mainstream luxury with the addition of new materials and features. Classy chrome highlights around the controls, air vents and the central control panel unit lifts BMW into a different era. The 3 Series now also features a “newly crafted” sliding cover for the cup holder area, improving both the modernity and overall well-rounded perception of the Beemer. As per usual when it comes to the BMW-options list, a wide range of personalised additions are available.
The new 3 Series will have a wide range of both petrol and diesel engine derivatives available to spark an interest for any possible buyer. The range includes four petrol engines with an output starting from 100kW to 240kW. A range of seven diesel engines are also available for those looking for a bit more torque and fuel-efficiency going up the hill. The diesel range starts at 85kW and gets topped off with a 230kW option.
For 40 years and six model generations, the BMW 3 Series has set the bar as far as practical sports cars are concerned, attributing to 25 percent of total BMW sales. Evolutionary to popular belief, the 3 Series has also grown up quite a lot – only time will tell though if the new model can follow in the proverbial footsteps of its ancestor.
