While both the standard GLC and its coupe offshoot have been spied earlier this earlier year wearing minimal layers of disguise, motor1.com’s spy photographers have now snapped both bodystyles versions of the AMG 63 undergoing testing at the Nürburgring.
Like with their more placid siblings, the AMGs sported the now familiar black-and-white masking mainly around the front bumper, on the taillights and in the case of the coupe, most of the lower rear facia with the regular GLC only concealing the diffuser.
Featuring the now trademark Panamericana grille, AMG bespoke grille with its wider air vents, bigger alloy wheels and in the case of the coupe, a pronounced rear spoiler, the AMG GLC will likely become the latest model to benefit from the A-class’ MBUX infotainment system, as well as the new digital instrument cluster and upgraded driver assistance systems.
According to the online platform, the 4.0-litre bi-turbo V8 is unlikely to be altered, with power therefore expected to be kept at 350kW/650Nm for the standard 63 and at 375kW/700Nm for the 63 S. Benz’s performance optimised 4Matic all-wheel drive and nine-speed MCT gearbox will also be carried over.
Based on the layers of disguise, both the GLC 63 and GLC 63 Coupe will make their debuts in 2019 shortly after the regular variants.
