Captured by the Automotive Mike YouTube page rather predictably at the Nürburgring, the still heavily disguised rival for the Mercedes-AMG GLE 63 Coupe and Audi SQ8 appears nearly identical to the test mule at the Green Hell two months ago, with the only apparent difference being the number plate.
Sporting a more aggressive look than the regular X6, the M will nonetheless be underpinned by the same CLAR platform as the new 3-series, 5-series, incoming 7-series, 8-series and other X models, which will reportedly result in a significant drop compared to the current model.
Inside, the interior is set to be carried over from the X5 with X7 influences possible, while motivation is set to come from the 441kW/750Nm 4.4-litre bi-turbo V8 used in the M5. Rumours have also begun swirling of an alleged Competition model that, if approved, will retain the mentioned engine, but with the same 460kW output as in the M5 Competition and the speculated M8 Competition.
At present, the standard X6 is only expected to arrive in 2019 with the M following a short while later.
