GEORGE NEWS - Despite desperate rescue efforts by lifeguards and emergency services, a woman drowned at Victoria Bay earlier today, Sunday 28 September.
The unknown woman was spotted floating face down in the surf by lifeguards who swam in, pulled her from the water and immediately started CPR.
Metro Rescue and the NSRI were contacted and ER24 paramedics assisted with further intervention. Unfortunately, she was declared dead on the scene.
The woman’s identity has not yet been confirmed.
