GEORGE NEWS - Community safety in George has received a boost following the donation of equipment worth R20 000 to the Denneoord Neighbourhood Watch by the Ward 18 Committee on Thursday 6 November.
Ward 18 Councillor Donovan Gultig, who also serves as Portfolio Councillor for Electrotechnical Services, says the initiative aims to enhance local crime-prevention efforts and provide tangible support to the dedicated volunteers who patrol and protect their neighbourhoods.
“This partnership is about empowering those who give their time to protect others,” says Gultig. “Neighbourhood watches play a vital role in promoting safety and building community trust. We are proud to support their ongoing efforts.”
The George Municipality extended its appreciation to both the Ward 18 Committee for driving this initiative and the Denneoord Neighbourhood Watch for their continued dedication to the safety and wellbeing of residents.
