Update
GEORGE NEWS - Herold's Bay beach that was closed for swimming earlier this morning due to high levels of E-Coli found in the water, has been reopened.
According to George Municipality's senior communications officer Ntobeko Mangqwengqwe, the latest results for Herold's Bay indicate that the E-Coli levels are within acceptable limits.
"Herold's Bay beach is now open to the public for swimming and the Blue Flag will be hoisted again," he said.
However, the Gwaiing river mouth, that was closed for the same reason, has still not been reopened as results remain non-compliant with unacceptably high E-Coli levels.
"The Gwaiing river mouth beach remains temporarily closed until further notice. We continue to take daily water samples," said Mangqwengqwe.
