GEORGE NEWS - The Market Community Theatre proudly presents the multi-award winning one-man show, The Ugly Noo Noo, at the theatre on 5 and 7 September.
The play, written and performed by Andrew Buckland, humorously explores a man’s encounter with the infamous Parktown Prawn, using satire to reflect on fear and power during apartheid, remaining universally relevant even today.
Celebrating a legacy of 36-years since its debut in 1988 at the Market Theatre in Johannesburg, the play has been called a revolutionary work that reshaped South African theatre with its comic brilliance and political edge.
The Ugly Noo Noo is directed by Buckland's wife Janet, and has earned 17 national and international awards, including a Fringe First and Perrier Pick shortlisting at Edinburgh.
