GEORGE NEWS - The local Fish Eagle Master Swimmers (Fems) calls on all swimmers, young and old, to take part in the annual SA Masters Swimming (Sams) Winter Fitness Challenge to raise much-needed funds for the NSRI.
Participants swim for an hour, either as an individual or in a four-person relay team, covering as much distance as they can.
Sponsors can make a once-off donation or sponsor swimmers per metre swum, meaning the further they swim the more money they raise.
The challenge will take place from 14:00 to 16:30 on Saturday 3 August at Glenwood House School's swimming pool. Both Fems club members and non-members are invited to join in the challenge, and family and friends are invited to come support and cheer the swimmers along.
Entry forms will be available on the day and it is advised to bring along some hot drinks and snacks to help stay warm.
