GEORGE NEWS - A seal spotted on the N2 near Wilderness earlier today has been safely captured and will be released after being assessed.
The animal was found on the road near the current roadworks.
According to information received, SANParks and CapeNature officials responded to assist the animal.
The seal was subsequently captured and removed from the road.
It is not yet clear how the seal made its way to the N2 or why it ventured so far from the coastline. The animal will be assessed before being released.
