GEORGE NEWS - Tears well in their eyes as Tony and Antoinette Allman speak about their son, Colin, who died in a motorcycle accident on Saturday evening, 26 September.
"His bike was his life. He was a wonderful man who started his own business in George just a year ago. And it was doing very well. We are going to miss him terribly. Parents shouldn't bury their child," Antoinette says.
Fellow bikers are puzzled by the accident. According to a biker who asked not to be named, Allman's helmet was lying a couple of meters away from him on the road and his bike wasn't as badly damaged as one would expect.
According to Southern Cape police spokesperson, Capt Malcolm Pojie, Allman was riding towards George when he lost control of his bike on the N2 near Wilderness at 20:15. The exact circumstances surrounding the crash are still being investigated.
"On arrival our members found the rider in a critical condition and he had lost a lot of blood. Paramedics declared him dead on the scene," Pojie said.
By the time of going to print funeral arrangements had not been finalised.
Allman leaves behind a 10-year-old daughter as well as his mother, father and brother Gwyn.
