GEORGE NEWS - The local children's ministry Life Community Services (LCS) has been able recently to add new classrooms and facilities to accommodate the growing number of children who need access to education.
According to the latest LCS newsletter, its supporters enable them to provide quality education to those who would otherwise not have the opportunity.
"The school building, the books, the equipment and furniture all added up but, with the help of the Lord and our supporters' obedience to His voice, we could raise the funds to almost cover all," reports CEO Maryna de Vries.
"In order for the above to be successful, massive grounds work had to be negotiated. Retired geologist Paul Nicholson and his wife Lu-Anne felt the call of the Lord, came to see us and tackled this seemingly unsurmountable mountain with wonderful results. The whole landscape had to change from a marshland to solid land for the classrooms plus drainage. This took weeks of perseverance and donation of time and money, but the results are amazing. Lu-Anne got involved in the ministry and the kids love her."
In addition to the school expansion, LCS is also expanding their Happy Feet early learning centre. This vital programme provides young children with a safe and nurturing environment to learn, grow and thrive. They have recently added new staff members and resources to ensure that these children receive the best possible start in life.

Extensive drainage and ground works were required before additions to the Life Christian Academy could become a reality.
Paul Nicholson, who has helped tremendously with the ground works for LCS's additions, is one of Life Community Services' supporters without whom they cannot render the extensive services that they do to children in the George community.
