WILDERNESS NEWS - The actress Mimi Mahlasela, known for her role as Aggie Ngwenya in the soapie 7de Laan, will be the guest of honour at the Seven Passes Initiative 10-year celebration on Saturday 3 November.
The event will take place at the Touwsranten sport field. It starts at 10:00 and concludes at 15:00. Lots of stalls with delicious, affordable food and free fun activities for the children are on the programme. DJ Kwesta of Twizza will provide musical entertainment. This is an outing for the whole family. "When Seven Passes was established 10 years ago, its primary aim was to reduce levels of violence in and around Touwsranten.
We did this by providing academic support to children and facilitating opportunities for young people to study further after school, or to find work," says the director, Wilmi Dippenaar. "Our services have since expanded as we have come to understand the needs of the children, young people and parents in our community."
Today, their services include safe, nurturing and stimulating after-school care and holiday programmes for children, good quality educational support for primary and high school learners, work and learning opportunities for young people, and support for parents through their positive parenting programmes.
Diarise the date, Saturday 3 November, and treat your family to a fun outing.
