GEORGE NEWS - Group Editors welcomes a new sub-editor, Wahl Lessing, and a seasoned journalist, Jacqueline Herbst, to its ranks.
Both Wahl and Jacqueline were previously employed by Lowveld Media.
Their first day in office started with an editorial meeting at George Herald's office on Monday 3 March, moving straight on to editing for Wahl, and two protest marches for Jacqueline, joining fellow George Herald journalists with her camera and notebook.
About Wahl
Wahl will work on all the publications in the Group Editors stable, in both English and Afrikaans. He has also been tasked with creating official style guides for Group Editors, in both languages.
Wahl previously worked for Caxton Media at its Lowveld Media division, primarily on its flagship paper, Lowvelder, but also on all the satellite papers in that area and the Get it Lowveld magazine.
He was promoted to senior sub, and effectively took on the duties of the head sub in the process.
Wahl established himself in the nearby Reebok with two of his greatest friends and colleagues, Chelsea Pieterse and Linzetta Calitz, both senior Mossel Bay Advertiser journalists, who also preceded him to this area from the Lowveld years before.
He is an avid bookworm, and enjoys frequenting bookshops and libraries. In his spare time, he plays hobby tabletop games, goes on road and camping trips, does walking routes and enjoys sightseeing.
