GEORGE NEWS - The OCC flagship event isn't just a local gem in George but shines as a beacon for all of South Africa. This prestigious race, which clinched the Western Cape Premier Award for the best event in 2019, has become a national highlight.
In its 20th edition, the race is slated for Saturday 24 February 2024, at the scenic Carpe Diem School.
Notably, the event will once again feature the remarkable Pieter du Preez, a gold medallist at the Tokyo Olympic Games, who will take on the challenging 42,2km course alongside a stellar line-up of athletes.
OCC organisers have introduced a special category that encourages businesses to take part in this meaningful event.
For a modest fee of R3 000, you can enlist an able-bodied representative from your company to participate in the enjoyable 5km race.
Simply provide the wheelchair and a team to assist in navigating the 5km route, or make use of one of their kaskarre (go-karts).
This presents a golden opportunity to promote your business while extending support to individuals with mobility challenges.
You're encouraged to proudly showcase your branding within the lively Carpe Diem School race village. The organisers eagerly await your participation as they collectively strive to raise awareness of the daily challenges faced by individuals using wheelchairs.
Join them in making a difference.
