GEORGE NEWS - George detectives are investigating a business robbery at Yorkers Superette in York Street on Monday evening, 12 April at approximately 19:00.
According to Southern Cape police spokesperson, Sgt Chris Spies, four suspects of who two allegedly had firearms, entered the shop and threatened the victim before they made off with an undisclosed amount of cash, three cellphones and cigarettes.
No one was injured during the ordeal.
“The investigation into this matter is at a very sensitive stage and the suspects are yet to be arrested. The public is urged to come forward with any information that could assist the police to bring these perpetrators to book.
"Anyone with information is kindly requested to contact the investigation officer, Sergeant Andile Baxa on 044 803 4762. All information will be treated confidentially,” Spies said.
Spies confirmed that at this stage the incident cannot be linked to recent business robberies that took place in the Pacaltsdorp area, but that all possibilities are being investigated.
