GEORGE NEWS - The George community is gearing up for its fourth annual Street Shower on Saturday 22 June.
The event, aimed at providing essential services and restoring dignity to homeless people in the area, promises to serve and uplift those in need, offering various stations for guests to visit and receive support.
The Street Shower includes a range of services including haircuts, nail care for women, warm showers, and provision of new clothes and shoes.
Attendees will also receive assistance in creating CVs to enhance their prospects for employment, and will be served a warm meal. Additionally, the event features two ministering opportunities.
At the feet washing station, volunteers wash guests' feet, engaging in conversation to build connections. The main ministering station offers one-on-one time for volunteers to pray with guests and share messages of hope and faith.

According to organiser Anél le Grange, previous Street Showers in George have been highly successful, with the past three events assisting between 150 and 190 homeless individuals each time, providing food to an additional 20 to 50 people who were unable to participate fully in the event.
"The impact of these events has been profound, with reports of individuals finding jobs and housing after attending, and some experiencing significant personal transformations, including healing and newfound faith. We are expecting around 250 homeless guests this year, reflecting the growing need and community support for this initiative," Le Grange said.
