GEORGE NEWS - The Smart Paws Academy Fun Dog Show that took place at the George Riding School in June has raised a whopping R17 000 - all of which is being used for the much-needed sterilisation of dogs.
In the spirit of transparency, co-organiser and MC on the day, Sean Snyman, shared that the funds raised are starting to pay off.
"Moira Gibbs, Brenda Verity and I came together to hand over the money raised at the event and the first of 50 sterilisations took place this Wednesday in a joint venture between PDSA and Garden Route SPCA - once again showing how we need to work together to combat the plight of animals in the Garden Route."
Ten sterilisations will be done weekly and the three thanked all the sponsors and those who participated in this event.
"Thank you for the help in making it an extremely successful day. We hope to repeat the show next year as the fight to sterilise animals is a real one and animals cannot be left to their own devices," said Snyman.
