GEORGE NEWS - The Outeniekwa Child and Youth Care Centre (CYCC) in George has partnered with Thembalethu High School to equip local learners with vital computer literacy skills.
The initiative, launched by the Western Cape Department of Social Development last November, aims to help Grade 11 learners strengthen their academic performance and digital confidence.
The first group of participants successfully completed the course and graduated in September.
Western Cape Minister of Social Development Jaco Londt praised the programme. "This free training forms part of our broader efforts to build stronger community ties and promote youth development in the region. Thank you to the DSD staff for initiating this fantastic programme, and to the teachers who are showing their support."
The computer classes are led by qualified facilitators at Outeniekwa CYCC and are open to all high school learners interested in improving their digital skills.
