GEORGE NEWS - The George and Garden Route District Municipalities, alongside the South African National Parks, Wilderness Fire Management Unit and Volunteer Wildfire Services Southern Cape, have been responding to two fires reported to the Garden Route Emergency Emergency Call Centre at 14:49 today.
The firefighters managed to bring both these fires under control and mopping up operations are now underway.
The area will be monitored for flare-ups because tomorrow's weather prediction will be risky for areas to flare up or existing fires to spread rapidly.
Aerial resources will remain on standby.
