GEORGE NEWS - Easter is the most important festival in the Christian calendar and the Easter story is at the heart of Christianity.
St Mark's Cathedral will observe the Easter story in cantata form in a special service on Easter Saturday with Passion Praise, comprising readings interspersed with uplifting organ, piano and instrumental music accompanied by a 85-voice combined choir.
Choirs from the cathedral, St Peter's in Plettenberg Bay, St Peter's in Mossel Bay, the NG Moederkerk in George, the George Congregational Church and the New Apostolic Church will be accompanied by three organists, two pianists and five instrumentalists.
This promises to be an uplifting and inspiring service specially produced by the cathedral's director of music, Hyran Motha.
The George Flower Club's popular and stunning annual floral display will meaningfully enhance the sanctity and beauty of George's historic cathedral for this special service.
The service commences at 17:30 on Saturday 31 March at St Mark's Cathedral in George and all are welcome to attend.
