GEORGE NEWS - A 28-year-old woman was brutally murdered in what seems to be a domestic violence related incident in Boekenhout Street, Loerie Park yesterday, Wednesday 21 December.
According to Southern Cape police spokesperson Sgt Chris Spies, police responded to the incident at a house at about 02:00 and found the deceased with multiple wounds inside the home.
"It is alleged that the victim and a man had an argument and he assaulted her with a panga. She sustained multiple wounds and was declared dead by paramedics on scene," said Spies.
A second victim who intervened was also assaulted and sustained injuries as a result of the attack. She was taken to hospital for medical care.
The suspect (24) was arrested on the scene. He is expected to make his first court appearance tomorrow, Friday 23 December.
The motive for the killing forms part of the police investigation.
