GEORGE NEWS & VIDEO - One year ago, hundreds of brave souls stripped down to their bare essentials and fearlessly charged towards an icy onslaught of tempestuous swells with a single-minded drive and a deeply selfless motivation.
Why, you ask? Lunacy? Quite the opposite actually… They did it for charity.
The inaugural dotsure.co.za Polar Bear Plunge was nothing less than a joyful outpouring of generosity onto a community of people that desperately needed warm hearts and bodies in a freezing cold winter. In total 488 blankets were collected and distributed to those that needed it most.
This year, the event will be much bigger, more entertaining, more exciting and, most importantly, more generous!
The 2017 Polar Bear Plunge will, once again, be hosted at Victoria Bay and it’s going to be jam packed with happy, kind people enjoying truly world class entertainment!
There will be special celebrity appearances by Algoa FM, the stunning Miss Junior Teen SA winner Monique Best, and none other than the celebrated Electronic band GOODLUCK.
There will be so much to see and do, but the real reason to get freezin’ is to make a blanket donation to one of our worthy charity partners. Your blanket is your entry fee. The more you give, the better you feel as you will be helping vulnerable people and animals in desperate need!
In 2017, dotsure.co.za has added to the list of charity partners to support humans and animals that are in desperate need of winter warming.
The event will take place on Saturday 29 July between 09:00 and 14:00.
Entries are limited, so if you would like to ensure your spot on the beach (and in the sea) you can register at www.dotsure.co.za/polar-bear-plunge.
Get freezin’ for a reason this winter at the dotsure.co.za Polar Bear Plunge.
