GEORGE NEWS & VIDEO - Children attending the holiday club at Life Christian Academy (LCA) in Conville were having loads of fun this week when a team of Christian volunteers from Bluffton, South Carolina visited the school to present a variety of activities up until today, Thursday 6 July.
The club proved to be very popular and attracted on average 170 children every day.
They started the mornings with a prayer and praise session followed by soccer and basketball, some focused fun on the school's big jungle gym, art classes, small discussion group sessions to establish any needs the young ones might have, and an engineering activity which the kids absolutely loved.

It was the third time that Travis and Amy Velder from Bluffton reach out to the Life Community Services ministry, the founder of LCA.
The couple first visited Life in 2017 and in 2019 brought over the first volunteer team. Life CEO Maryna de Vries said the team is very well prepared. "They are really amazing and we are truly grateful to have them here for a whole week."

The Velders lead outreaches to other African countries too, such as Nigeria, Uganda and Kenya, as well as to Latin America and Scotland.
In these countries they work among college students and visit shelters for women and children.
