GEORGE NEWS - Detectives from the Thembalethu SAPS branch are investigating a murder case after a 30-year-old man from Pacaltsdorp, Mario Noordman, was found dead in a tavern in Thembalethu last night, Friday 19 November.
He had a single gunshot wound to his face under his right eye, according to Southern Cape spokesperson Capt. Malcolm Pojie.
Pojie said the body was found after members from the Thembalethu police were dispatched to the Inn Tavern in Zone 7 at approximately 21:30. They retrieved a spent cartridge that was found next to the deceased.
"There were no other people or witnesses on the premises when members arrived. The business had seemingly closed for the day," said Pojie.
He said the motive is unknown although the suspects escaped from the scene after taking the backpack and cellphone of the deceased.
